CPAP Hose and Mask Connection Troubleshooting

New CPAP Mask Not Fitting? Here’s Why—And How to Fix It Fast
You’ve just unpacked your new CPAP mask, ready for a peaceful night’s sleep—only to discover it won’t connect to your tubing. Frustrating, right? Don’t worry—this is a common (and easily fixable) issue.
Why Doesn’t My New Mask Fit the Tubing?
All the CPAP masks we carry are designed with universal fittings, so they’re compatible with standard CPAP tubing. If your new mask isn’t clicking into place, the problem is usually a leftover adapter piece from your previous mask that’s still lodged in the tubing.
How to Tell If There’s an Adapter Stuck Inside
Here’s a quick way to find out:
Step 1: Squeeze the End of Your Tubing
Gently press the rubber end of the tube.
- If it squishes easily, nothing is stuck—your mask should fit.
- If it’s firm or unyielding, there’s likely a plastic swivel or connector piece jammed inside.

How to Remove the Stuck Adapter
- Pull out swivel on its own
Reconnect Your Old Mask
Try attaching your old mask again. Then gently twist and pull to extract the stuck part along with it.
Once that hidden piece is removed, your new mask should slide in smoothly and securely.
